To the Editor:

Dundee is getting excited about the new Cabela's store arriving soon. But
has anyone been paying attention to the other proposed development between
Milan and Dundee?

The Ann Arbor Railroad is trying to put a 900 acre auto distribution center
off US 23 at Cone road. There will be 50 or so semi trucks an hour, 24
hours a day bring vehicles into the facility and placing them on railroad
cars which 95% of will then go SOUTH.

So you say, so what! Those added trains will cross M50 below Dundee. What
is that going to do to the added Cabela's traffic flow coming through Dundee?
Is Dundee going to be one huge parking lot of frustrated travelers waiting
on trains?

Milan township is in the process of amending their Master Plan to
accommodate this facility and rezone almost 1000 acres of farmland into
light industrial.

There is a public hearing on this subject on June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Milan
Middle School and I think residents of Dundee should be in attendance to
learn more about the project. Just because it's not happening in your town
does not mean that you won't reap some of the repercussions from it.

Thank you
Aretta Schils
